    How we calculated this

For every card: statement credits you really use + anniversary bonus + what the card earns on your spending at its rates (caps respected, a shared cap split in proportion) − the annual fee and other recurring costs, minus what a no-fee 2% card would earn on the same spending. Cards are ranked by that difference; ties go to the lower fee.

Rates and credits come from the Studio’s Wallet Score test of each card, verified on the issuer’s page on the date shown on the card’s page. Where a card’s mechanics need an assumption (a chosen bonus category, rotating categories, store cards), the card’s page says so and the finder uses the Studio’s assumption.

Points are valued at each issuer’s stated value. If you value transfers higher, open a card’s arithmetic and set your own value there.

    Customize assumptions

Every line above is an assumption you can change: the spending mix, whether you use credits, personal or business cards, the fee range. For one card’s point value, open “See the arithmetic” on its row.
