How we calculated this

Net value = statement credits you really use + anniversary bonus + (what the card earns on your spending − what a no-fee 2% card earns on the same spending) − annual fee and other recurring costs.

Spending above a category’s annual cap earns the card’s base rate; a cap shared by several categories is split in proportion to your spending. Points are valued at the issuer’s stated value unless you set your own under Customize assumptions. Everything is exact to the cent; nothing is rounded until it is shown, and the same arithmetic runs in the Studio behind Julia’s videos.

Left out or assumed for this card:

      Customize assumptions
Value of one point or mile
The stated value is what the issuer’s page promises for its simplest use. Transfers to partners can be worth more or less; that is your call, not ours.
Your spending by category, a year
Editing any category replaces the standard split. The total above follows.
      First year vs year two

A welcome offer is a first-year event, so it is not in the yearly answer. Card records will carry the offer with the date it was checked; until then it is left out.
